The short version
This site contains advertising. The accommodation and activity links in our guides are routed through a booking partner that adds commission tracking to them automatically, so if you book through one we earn a commission from the provider, at no extra cost to you. It never affects what we recommend.
How this site is funded
We work with Stay22, a booking partner that handles the accommodation and activity links on this site. When you follow one of those links and make a booking, the provider pays us a small commission. The price you pay is the same either way.
Stay22 adds that commission tracking after the page has loaded, which means we cannot list the monetised links individually and you cannot tell them apart by looking at them. That is why the notice at the top of every guide is unconditional: assume any accommodation or activity link here can earn us a commission.
Commission on bookings is the only way this site earns money. We carry no display advertising, we do not sell sponsored posts or guest posts, and we do not take payment for inclusion.
Nothing on this site is a paid placement. We are not paid to include a hotel, a restaurant or an attraction, and no partner sees an article before it is published. Where we recommend something, it is because we think it is worth your time.
What this means for your data
Stay22 identifies your device so that a booking can be credited to us. It does this using characteristics of your browser and device rather than a cookie, and it stores an identifier in your browser’s local storage. On this site it is classified as marketing storage and is not loaded until you accept that category; you can withdraw that at any time from the consent control on the page, and refusing it does not limit anything you can read here.
